Feelings

I have learned not to write things in a fit of anger.

So…

I have nothing to write.

One Singapore Last Minute

I wanted very much to be a part of Mr Brown's little meme, call the One Singapore Minute.
You can find out more about how he started it here.

Time is running out.
The little (although must have grown quite huge by now) meme ends on the 31st August 2005, 2359 hours.
Wah! Sounds like book-in time hor?
Anyway, in true singaporean fashion, I got myself some photos at the very last minute.
Actually, not so last minute lah, still got a few days to go.
But the camera is such a prohibited thingy (we are not allowed to bring it anyway we like, especially to work),
I only get to have some fun with it on weekends.
Hence, the shots are taken in a restuarant, when I was having dinner.

You can see the rest of the photo set here.
I hope Mr Brown wouldn't notice,
Because I took all the shots in slightly more than one minute.
(I took a minute and a half, to be exact.)
Imagine have to focus my lousy camera lens in that sort of restuarant lighting.
Light enough to see what you are eating, but not enough for you to see all the oil in it.

I decided to take these photos for the Singapore theme because
1. Singapore is a food paradise.
2. Singaporeans love to eat.
3. It's my dad's favourite restuarant, and he is a native singaporean.
4. I take better photos sitting down, nothing to do, while waiting for my food.

As Mr Miyagi explains in his article published in TODAY (August 10, 2005),

"There's this thing in the online community called a 'meme', where a blogger starts a certain behaviour on his or her blog, and gets everyone else to imitate it."

You can read the rest of his article here.

Faster, faster, still got a few days to go only!

Why is it...

That when the mechanical chassis didn't arrive on time, it is everybody's business,
But when the USB connection on the computer doesn't work, it is only one person's business?

Had a lousy day at work.
Everything I touch seems to have something in common.
They all doesn't work.
Sigh!

It really feels lousy to be at the end of the food chain...
Or being last in the line of work.
All eyes are trained on you...
Boss: 'Fiona, when can the thing be ready? Customer is coming next week you know?'
Me: 'But I only receive it yesterday. It was supposed to be in last week.'
Boss: 'Why didn't you chase for it?'
Me: 'I did, but...' Ooooh, neh-mind.
Somehow, anyhow, it is my fault.

Bigger fishes have bigger say.
I am only small fry.
They shout, I can only squeal.
Life can be so unfair.

Wah lau! 7:45pm, and alone in the office, during the lunar seventh month.
Jia-lat la, I must have offended the ghosts in some way.

Yellow Snow

When the strong winds blow,
The falling leaves
Looked like yellow snow.

Now, how warm is that?

No time

More time at work = tired.
Tired = less time for pleasure.
Less time for pleasure = less time for my bao-bei.
Less time for my bao-bei = even lesser time for blogging,
Let alone do anything else.

*Pout!

I thought, an entry once a week ain't that bad, right?
Wrong. But the time I wanted to blog,
I have absolutely nothing to write!
All the thoughts and feelings of the moment are long forgotten because of time and fatique.

An important milestone for my project is coming up.
Gotta make good.
Can't afford to let it slip again.
Luckily, everybody in the team are cooperative.
Cooperative = good.
Good = will meet milestone x [EOR (vendor is screwed up)].
Meet milestone = customer is happy + boss is happy.
Dun meet milestone = customer is unhappy + boss is unhappy.
Boss is unhappy = everybody get screwed by Boss.
Well, at least I have the whole team in it together.
Must work hard, ok?

A special day

Today is a special day.
It's Daddy's birthday!
Happy Birthday to you~~
Happy Birthday to you~~

Ahem.
Anyway, we had dinner at Swensens, Toa Payoh outlet.
That's Daddy's favourite outlet.
He knows everybody there, and everybody there knows him.
Being his birthday, he is entitled to a free ice cream sundae,
And a birthday song, sung by the staff...
Daddy has to beg them not to sing!! Wahahahaha~~!!!
I, being the cheeky one, asked them to give Daddy a big kiss instead.
*Coy. I am not telling whether or not Daddy got the k-i-s-s.

Today is also nomination day.
Ok, so Mr N is officially our president, again.
I had wished that they would have given more than one cert of eligibility;
Then I get to vote.
I eat until so big, I don't even know what the voting station or voting slip smells like...
Haiz~~! Another wasted chance.
And all the smart alecs out there,
Quit telling me to move, just for voting purposes.
Siao eh! I like living where I am now, at least for the past 30 over years...
When I told Daddy I am disappointed for not being able to vote,
He said, 'Chay, you like to queue up izzit?'
*Pout! I don't even know what queueing in the voting station feels like...

So in conclusion, I had a wonderful dinner with lots of 'monkeying' around,
And the sting of being unable to vote, AGAIN.

Postcard

Scanned from 'Artcards'.

I was so happy.
I got THE postcard!

Ok, what is the big deal about getting this postcard, right?
It is just advertisement for a movie.
Well, I love the movie...
More correctly, I love the car in the movie...
HERBIE! It is a VW Beetle, you know...
I remember when I was a little girl,
I watched the movie, "Herbie goes bananas."
It was hilarious. I want the VCD~~!!!

Happy Birthday, Singapore!

Come along, join the song with merry singing
Blend our voices, join in the chorus

Singapura, oh Singapura
Sunny island, set in the sea
Singapura, oh Singapura
Pretty flowers bloom for you and me.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
'Experts' say that Sang Nila Utama might have made a mistake.
What he saw could have been a tiger instead of a lion...
Then, he could have named the island, Harimau-pura...
Harimau-what??!? Eeeee~~ Yucks!
I hate Mondays!
I hate Mondays!
I hate Mondays!
I hate Mondays!
Today is the one day I am super early,
I mean, normally I was ON TIME...
But today I am EARLY...
Guess what?
It has to rain!
Pouring, that type.
Can't see the building opposite, that type.
ROOOAAAR! That type.
All directions, that type.
The legs of my jeans are sodden with rain water,
So are my shoes...
I just hope they dun squeak.
So kao-wey...
And I look like a super-duper rain-sodden red-wearing rat!
Fly the flag
Fly the Singapore flag, will ya?
Paint the town red (and white, that is)...
Make Singapore pretty, pretty, with red and white all around.
Pleassse....?!??
Big (And I mean HUGE) surprise
Saturday was spent collecting more presents from my friends.
Heehee~~~
Well, they are usually shy people, so wishes are very respected here.
Read: No photos.
(Actually, I didn't managed to get any, lah!)
Anyway, I had a great time gathering with long time friends and classmates...
Some of which I will only get to meet once or twice every year.
Due to laziness, business, etc...?
I can't really figure out the real reasons.
They seemed so busy with their friends and families,
It was kinda hard to meet up, unless we really make an effort to.
So. made an effort we did.
We were making our way up Killiney Road to AA Centre.
They are having a LEGO stock clearance sale.
I WANT! I am a LEGO fan! I am a big kid!
There was this building with a NTUC in it,
In the middle of Killiney Road!
Read: I didn't know that building exist, let alone there is a NTUC in it.
Guess what greeted us?
"No entry until I check you out properly."
Dad was marvelling at the sheer size of that doggie.
It was huge!
The lady in pink is the proud owner. She assures us that Doggie doesn't bite...
Okay, I like dogs, I do, really, but I don't want to take the chance.
What if Doggie decides not to like me?
I was so awed by the whole thing that I didn't catch the name of the auntie, or the doggie, or the building...
Next time if you happened to be in that area,
(I was walking up from Somerset Road to River Valley Road.)
Look out for them, ok?
The Durian
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Very tiny nibble

The doctor says to take more fruits...
Well, durian is a fruit.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Durians are Daddy's favourite fruit.
Daddy: The doctor asked me to take more fruits.
Me: No problem what. Durian is a fruit. Can eat! Once a while only!
Daddy: You rascal!
Me: Heehee~~~. You will only see the lady doctor next year... Why scared? She won't know one lah! Unless you tell her...
Daddy: Ok loh~~~
That particular durian meal is limited to two teeny weeny "2 for $5" durians.
Not the usual "cream de a cream" durians that we normally have,
But that will have to suffice.
Dad is happy, nonetheless, and so am I.
Read: I don't have to eat so much.
I am not a BIG fan of the king of fruits.
The esplanade?!??
Birthday Wishes
Author's note: Sorry this entry took so long...
I had to process the photos first. :-P
Had quite an event filled Friday.
Hey~~! It's the day before my birthday, ok?
Lunchtime was spent with Gor and Sis.
We had a ride to Thomson Plaza in Gor's Mazda 6.
Here's a pix of the dashboard. The driver, however, will be clouded in a mist of secrecy.
Hahahaha!!
Sis bought me a beautiful green (my fav colour) Charles and Keith bag.
I like!! That's her in the pix.
We had sushi for lunch, of course, Gor pick up the tab. Muahahaha!!
We (or rather I) wanted swensens, mmm.... Ice cream,
But the outlet at Thomsom is under renovation?!?
Arghh~~!! Neh-mind.
We had fun, nonetheless.
Dinner is with 2 beautiful ladies...
We took a bus to suntec city.
The expressway is so packed with cars, that even a fly can't squeeze through.
No lah, not so jia-lat.
Anyhow, our 'target' was sizzler, but it was full,
And Gwen, Su Peng and myself had to queue to get a table.
After listening to our poor stomachs,
(It was growling all the time, haha!)
We changed plans and try Kuali, another buffet.
Look at this disgusting plate of desserts.
My pudding melt already!!
The plate is just too hot, but I cleaned the plate all the same.
My colleagues are a bunch of beautifully kind people,
And they love me soooo much!
A signed birthday card.
Notice the angel and forever friends bear?
Drawn lovingly by Kim Tong and Eunice respectively.
$100 Taka Vouchers as a birthday gift.
I had already promise to get 9 inch skirts...
*Gulp!
