The day the Queen came...

Yeah, and she created waves. She is the QUEEN OF ENGLAND! Not joking, ok!
So behave!

Even Dad got excited and called me from the office.

"Your auntie from England bought you a box of cakes. When can you come home to eat?" He asked.

Geez, what aunt? England? The queen~~??!?!

Well, Dad succeeded getting me very confused. Wahahahahaha~~!

Queen's visit to Toa Payoh Town

Proof that the Queen of England is in my neighbourhood!!

I didn't get to see the Queen, but I sure felt her presence, days before she actually set foot in Toa Payoh. Areas are cordoned off, preventing residents from "dirtying" the floors!

Lonely

我也可望有人陪,
不让我心碎,
让我爱到深处不后悔。

Somehow, this song kept playing in my head...

Tonight will be a long night~~

Darling, goodbye

We choose it, win or lose it,
Love is never quite the same.
I found you, now I’ve lost you,
Don’t feel bad, you’re not to blame.

So kiss me goodbye,
And I’ll try not to cry,
All the tears in the world won’t change your mind.

There’s someone new,
And she’s waiting for you,
Soon your heart will be leaving me behind.

Linger a while,
And I’ll go with a smile,
Like a friend who just happened to call.

For the last time,
Pretend you’re mine…
My darling, kiss me goodbye.

Money can't buy

Brand new all-in-one printer = $168
Cost of repairing the washing machine = $115.50
Thought of washing the clothes myself = priceless.

There are some things money can't buy.
For everything else, there is NO MORE BAD LUCK!

A rough patch

Good things happen in threes, or does it apply to bad ones too?

First, it was my TV set. Lost its voice and sight.
I got it replaced just one month ago.
Now I have a brand new giant Sony 29” TV sitting pretty in my small living room.

Then it was my scanner.
Fungus on the glass, with no way to clean it.
Ah well, change the whole thing,
So I bought an All-in-one printer.
Now I have a brand new Epson CX-4100 sitting pretty next to my desktop.

On Sunday, it was my washing lady’s turn.
She was coughing and making a din, and yanked her hair out.
And then she decides to quit.
Well, the doc came yesterday, and replaced her tendon.
That seemed to solve the problem.

Understandable version of the above paragraph:
On Sunday, it was my washing machine’s turn.
It was making loud noises and some of the wires caught by the belt got yanked off their sockets, (in the machine, of course).
And then the machine stopped working.
Well the technician came yesterday, and replaced the leather belt that attaches the drum to the motor.
That seemed to solve the problem, but I am S$115.50 poorer, and no hot water to wash clothes. (The unrepairable wires being yanked out are apparently being connected to the themostat.)

I should have good luck from now on.
Three bad things has already happened…
*Close my eyes tightly and prayed very hard.

Hey, go update your blog!

Just when I thought nobody reads my blog anymore,
Someone come up to me and asked me to update it.
Sweet~!

Let’s see… What had happened since my last entry?
Work. Work, work and more work.
I don’t quite have time for my hobbies anymore.
Not that I cannot cope with work, I just don’t like the busy schedule.
One week you are super-free, the other week you will be working your pants off…
Call it poor planning, which can’t be helped.

Rule no. 1: No discussion of work here.

Anyway…

I did manage to finish my scrapbook on my trip to Israel.
Finally… And it cost me 25 A4 photo paper and 2.5 colour ink cartridges!
A piece of art, I’d say.
So proud of myself, hehe.

I missed driving.
Yeah, 2 more months of P-plate.
And then I am officially a licensed driver, woo-hoo~!
I even have the crazy idea to sign up refresher courses at the driving school…
Should I? Nay, maybe not, dun waste money, huh?

Bought a new printer last weekend.
A brand new Epson CX4100 All-in-one.
Printer, scanner, copier…
I was quite disappointed with the scanner though,
The depth of field is not enough for scanning my bead projects.
The HP scanner is still best.
What do you expect for S$168?
“Cheap things no good, good things no cheap.”
That’s what I used to say.

My washing lady decides to quit last Sunday.
She falls sick in the middle of a wash, cough and splutter,
And calls it a day.
Yeah, my washing machine is dead.
And the "doc" is coming tomorrow to have a look.
Please help me pray for good news??
