Recent "Tsunami"

Recently, our division was hit by a tsunami of decisions.
One of our engineering manager decides transfer to another division.
It was more of a business decision, rather then a personal one.
Our staff strength was cut by 4.
D*mn!
And we are already short-handed.
Everybody was apprehensive, no...
"Confused" is the word.
It is considered a major change for us.
The manager in question is a lovable man.
And he will be bringing with him, 3 other engineers.
But this is work.
They are going to help the other division to solve a million dollar project.
If it works out, they will be branded "heroes".
What about the rest of us?
We won't be doing engineering work anymore.
And that's a huge chunk of money for us.
The rest of us will, await our fates.
Whether we will remain as one department,
Or transferred to another division.
Nobody uttered the word "retrench".
Guess we are all too confused.
"Retrench" is such a strong word.
BTW, we may have our division's name changed too.....
No more Engineering...
Somehow the future looks bleak...
